About the Event
Roman Polanski's original, highly successful stage direction was staged in a new guise by PS Produkció at the Hungarian Theater in Pest with an international cast. After the premiere in Vienna in 1997, the audiences of Stuttgart, Hamburg, Warsaw and Berlin could admire this musical bomb, which is special in every way, with a bitter humor, impressive visuals, and overwhelmingly energetic. So far, the vampire parody, which has now become a cult, has attracted millions of viewers around the world. Jim Steinman's endlessly flowing melodies faithfully follow the story dreamed up by Polanski. Michael Kunze's text is a poetic rendering of the chilling and grotesque anti-world of vampires. The Hungarian translation is the work of Tibor Miklós, who is known as the writer and translator of more than a hundred successful musicals, keeping the lyricism and meaning of the original text book and enriching it with the uniquely lovely turns of phrase of the Hungarian language. Dennis Callahan, the world-famous choreographer, supplements his ferocious dances with elements only seen in the Hungarian performance. The sets and costumes for the most spectacular Hungarian presentation of the Vampire Ball musical are designed by the internationally renowned Kentaur.
